2023 FAIR SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

 
Friday, September 8th
5pm- Jackpot Barrel Bash

Saturday, September 9th
8 am- Horse Show


Thursday, September 14th
3 pm. – 8 pm. Home Economic entries accepted.
6pm.- 8pm. Faulkner County Fair Clean up and set up day


Friday, September 15th
9:30 am. Home Economic Judging (except Baked Goods & Floriculture)

Saturday, September 16th
Campers may begin entering the fairgrounds. Reservations required.1 pm.

8:30 am.            Check-in for Little Miss Fair Queen contestants (Ages 0-9)

10 am.               Faulkner County Little Miss Fair Queen Pageants at the Centennial Stage at the Expo (Ages 0-9) 

1 pm.                 
Check-in for Jr. & Sr. Fair Queen Contestants (Ages 14-23)

1:30 pm.            Meeting - Jr. & Sr. Fair Queen Contestants (in front of dressing rooms)

2:00 pm.            Interviews for Jr. & Sr. Fair Queen Contestants

2:45 pm.            Check-in for PreTeen Faulkner County Fair Queen Contestants (Ages 10 - 13)

4 pm.                 Faulkner County Fair Queen Pageant at the Centennial Stage at the Expo Center (PreTeen, Jr. & Sr.                                                      
                          Divisions)

Sunday, September 17th
1 – 4 pm.          Set up Educational Booths
4 pm - 6 pm.     Enter Baked Goods & Floriculture (option of 2 day drop off - Sunday & Monday)

Monday, September 18th
9 am. – 11 am. Enter Baked Goods & Floriculture (option of 2 day drop off - Sunday & Monday)

9 am. – 2 pm.  Judging Baked Goods & Floriculture

9 am. – 6 pm.  Set up Educational Booths must be in place and remain in place until 9 am. Sunday

10 am. – 6 pm. Set up Commercial Booths

10 am               Ag Mechanics must be in place.

10 am.-12 pm. Ag Mechanics check-in and classification.

10 am.             Judging of Dairy Goat Exhibits followed by Dairy Goat showmanship. Awards will directly follow the
                        show.
                        Following Dairy Goat Show:

                        Judging of Junior Dairy Cattle Showmanship & Junior and Open Dairy Cattle Exhibits
                        Awards will directly follow the show.

                       Following the Junior Dairy Cattle Show:

                       
                       Judging of Small Ruminant Show--Breeding Meat Goat & Breeding Sheep (Dept. R)

                       Awards will immediately follow the show.

1 pm.             Ag Mechanics Show (judging) - Exhibitors must be present at judging unless showing another exhibit.        
                      If showing another exhibit, you must see the Ag Mechanics Superintendent for other arrangements.


6 pm.- 7:30 pm.
                      Faulkner County Fair Youth Livestock Skill-a-Thon Contest


7 pm.-10 pm.
                     Swine may enter the fairgrounds (health papers will be checked before unloading)


10 pm.          All Poultry (other than broilers) MUST be in place.

Tuesday, September 19th
8:30 am.      Broilers will be judged in the Rabbit Show area. All other poultry will be judged in the poultry area.
                    All broilers will be released after judging. Broiler Awards will immediately follow the show. The general
                    breed will be judged following the broiler show.

10 am.- 5 pm.
                   Set up Commercial Booth


4 pm.         Midway Opens

5 pm.          Judging of Goat Wether Dam Show
                   
                   Followed by Faulkner County Bred Market Goat Show
                 
                  Followed by Peewee Market Goat Showmanship            

                  Followed by Market Goat Show

                  Followed by Junior & Senior Market Goat Showmanship 

5 pm.        
Downtown Parade

5 pm.       Commercial Exhibits Open


Wednesday, September 20th -- ARMBAND NIGHT
9 am.        Rabbit Show. Awards will immediately follow the show. All meat rabbits will be released after judging.

9 am.        Exhibit Buildings Open
12 pm.      Judging of Swine Showmanship, followed by Breeding Swine Show. Awards will immediately follow the show.
4pm.-10pm.
                 Midway and Commercial Exhibits Open

6 pm.        
Market Hog Show

Thursday, September 21st -- ARMBAND NIGHT
9 am.       Judging of Beef Cattle Exhibits (Market Steers, Prospect/Feeder Steers, Breeding Beef, Heifers            
                andShowmanship) Awards will immediately follow the show.


9 am.       Market Lamb Weigh-In

9 am.       Exhibit Building Open


4:00 - 10:00 pm.
              
Midway and Commercial Exhibits Open -- ARMBAND NIGHT

5:30 pm. Check-In for the Faulkner County Jr. & Sr. Talent Contest on the Centennial
               Bank Stage (Ages 10-21)

6 pm.      Judging of Wether Dams
               
               FolloBed Market Lambs
             
               Followed by Lamb Showmanship

6:30 pm. Faulkner County Fair Talent Contest ( Ages 10-15 & Ages 16-21) at the Centennial Bank Stage




Friday, September 22nd
9 am.      Exhibit Buildings Open

9 am. -10 am.
               
Dog Obedience Exhibition (School Groups Welcome)
10:15am
             
Youth Dog Show – Begins at 10:15 am., concludes at 4:30 pm (or earlier depending on number of entries).  
             Awards will immediately follow the show and end at 5:00 pm

4pm-12 am 
              
Midway and Commercial Exhibits Open

5:30 pm. Livestock Award Ceremony begins followed by Parade of Champions (recognition of  livestock contestant's
               awards)

6 pm. – 8 pm.
               Parade of Champions - All Grand and Reserve Market Animals will be on exhibit in the Show Ring.

Saturday, September 23rd -KIDS DAY Armband Day (10am-3:30pm) (Arm bands will not be sold after 3 PM)
8:00 am.   Exhibit Buildings Open

8:15 am.   Check-in for the Faulkner County Fair Kids Talent Contest at the Centennial Bank Stage

9 am.        Faulkner County Fair Kids Talent Contest (Ages: 0-9) at the Centennial Bank Stage

10 am.     Junior Livestock Premium Auction Sale

10 am.     Midway and Commercial Exhibits Open

10:45 am.
               The Princess Show at Centennial Bank Stage

11:45 am.
               Paul Carlon Illusionist/Magic Show

12:00 pm.
              Check-In for the Cowboy Cutie Contest Near the Centennial Stage

1 pm.     Cowboy Cutie Contest (Ages: 0-9) at Centennial Stage    

2:45 pm.

              The Princess Show at Centennial Bank Stage

3:45 pm.
              Paul Carlon Illusionist/Magic Show

10 pm.  Livestock & Exhibits Dismissed (Dismissal Subject to Change)

10 pm.  Ag Mechanics exhibits will be released (even if purchased prior in the
week)

Midnight Midway Closed – End of Fair- All livestock and tack must be off Fairgrounds..
 

Sunday, September 24th
8:30 am.  Any livestock or tack left on the fairgrounds at this time will be sold or given away. The original owner or
                person who entered the livestock in the Fair will be charged for any expense incurred by the Fair Board in
                disposing of the livestock.

12 pm.    Cleanup Crew

12 pm.- 2 pm.
                Pick up Commercial Booths​

1 pm. - 3pm.
                 Pick up Home Economics, Horticulture, Floriculture Exhibits, and Educational Booths.
